Travel + Stay
We’re so excited to celebrate with you in Shizuoka! To make your trip as smooth as possible, here are some details about travel and accommodations.
Where to Stay
For convenience, we recommend staying at the Nippondaira Hotel, where the wedding ceremony and reception will be held. This stunning hotel overlooks Mt. Fuji and the Suruga Bay, offering both comfort and spectacular views—plus, you’ll be right at the heart of the festivities. If you’d prefer to stay elsewhere, there are many great hotels near Shizuoka Station, which is a central hub for the bullet train (Shinkansen) and local transit. Staying near the station is ideal if you're looking for easy access to restaurants, shops, or day trips in the area.

How to Get There:
We recommend flying into Tokyo and turning your trip into a little adventure! Here's the best route to get to Shizuoka for the wedding.
Step 1: Fly into Tokyo
Book your international flight into one of these airports:
Haneda Airport (HND) – closer to central Tokyo (~30 minutes by train)
Narita Airport (NRT) – about 1 to 1.5 hours train ride from the city
Both airports have convenient train or bus connections into Tokyo. Use google maps to view train route options from the airport.
Bus Option (to and from both Haneda & Narita airports): Airport Limousine Bus
Step 2: Explore Tokyo
Spend a few days enjoying Tokyo's neighborhoods, amazing food, and culture. From shopping in Shibuya to temples in Asakusa, there’s something for everyone.
Step 3: Take the Bullet Train to Shizuoka
From Tokyo Station, take the Tokaido Shinkansen to Shizuoka Station.
We recommend the following train types:
Hikari – about 1 hour (faster, stops less often)
Kodama – about 1 hour 20 minutes (slightly slower, more frequent stops)
Tip: No Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) needed — just purchase a ticket at the station or via machines (English available), or book online through services like SmartEX or JR Central. Bullet Train tickets are purchased separately from your IC card.
Once you arrive at Shizuoka Station, you can:
Stay nearby for easy access to shops, food, and transport
Or take the free Nippondaira Hotel shuttle (approx. 40 minutes) or a taxi to the wedding venue
Getting to the Venue (Nippondaira Hotel)
From Shizuoka Station, the Nippondaira Hotel is approximately 20 minutes away. The hotel offers a free shuttle service (~40 min) between the station and the hotel—perfect for a no-stress ride up the mountain. Refer to the link noted.
If you’re taking the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo, Kyoto, or other cities, we recommend arriving at Shizuoka Station, then using the shuttle or a taxi to reach the hotel.
